Innovative Hardt Hyperloop Technology: Diving into the Future of Transportation
Hyperloop promo, Chronosphere | Hardt Hyperloop | Twisted
The Hyperloop is a promising technology for transporting people and goods, which is faster and more energy-efficient than both aviation and high-speed rail. Hardt Hyperloop is one of the leading hyperloop parties worldwide and realised Europe’s first full-scale hyperloop test facility.

The hyperloop, which to many has a science fiction-like aura, still raises too many questions for many people that contribute to a negative sentiment. Only through active involvement, showing and letting people experience the hyperloop, can we work towards greater understanding and support among a broader target group. During the Chronosphere project, we investigated whether the use of volumetric video, applied in a realistic 3D environment, promotes the adoption process of a new transport mobility like hyperloop.
In February 2021, 9 employees of Hardt Hyperloop were filmed at our volumetric capturing stage. These volumetrics were then placed in a 3D environment by the company Twisted. Both at the station and in the hyperloop, these volumetric characters were placed. These characters move in a predetermined cycle a certain action where, through a tracking system, limited interaction with the end user also takes place.

Overall, the test subjects’ experiences can be assessed as very positive. Not only because it was their first experience with the power of volumetric video, but also because both the station and the vehicle were perceived as very impactful.
According to the test subjects, the volumetric characters contributed to their positive perception of the hyperloop. With the results given, a positive link can be made between the presence of the volumetric characters and the realistic 3D environment.
