Bias Buster

Bias Buster, AR4REAL | Superwomen Academy

You are biased, we are biased, everyone is biased. And in today’s society, where we are exposed to the forces of globalisation, this affects us in different ways. For example, diversity and inclusion within society are increasingly important issues. Here, it is essential to respond to these prejudices. Not only in society, but also in the labour market.

One of the elements that play a role in breaking down, or rather maintaining, barriers in the labour market is so-called “unconscious prejudice” or “unconscious bias. Unconscious (or implicit) biases are learned stereotypes that are automatic, unintentional, deep-rooted and universal, and can thus influence human behaviour.

In order to achieve inclusiveness, we need to change our behaviour. This can only be done through a series of meetings and lessons for all employees in a short period of time. This can be very costly for large companies and organisations. However, AR4REAL and Superwomen Academy wanted to do their bit and came up with Bias Buster.

Thanks to the power of volumetric video, people are recorded true to life, which means that the participant’s reactions will also be realistic. This makes it possible to accurately measure the reaction to certain situations. In addition, the Bias scores of the participants can be compared and thus see a “Shift” in recognising and dealing with one’s own prejudices.
