An unforgettable connection<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Stepping into the head of a dementia patient as a carer and experiencing what life can be like for him; that is something very impressive and can change the way care is provided. A concept, worked out by IJsfontein in a container, which can be brought to users more easily through virtual reality and volumetric video.<\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

This project originated in 2012, over 10 years ago. In collaboration with various care institutions and universities, IJsfontein developed a travelling interactive exhibit; Into D’mentia<\/a>. Moving inside a container, the exhibit aims to bring understanding to people with dementia. An interactive story is told through audiovisual media. The clever design gives caregivers and family members a clear picture of the perception of people with dementia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

An important part of the exhibit is the personal interaction that occurs during the experience. A 2D projection screen and reaction during the interaction gives the visitor the feeling of really being addressed by a “family member”.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
